Two sizes of asa-no-ha (hemp leaf) pattern add a bit of drama to this framed kumiko panel, as 5 medium hemp leaves run alongside and over a single large leaf. I use basswood for the kumiko and the frame. Half-lap joints make the frame strong, while small pegs add a bit of elegance.
